Everyone will experience death, whether it is of a loved one or oneself. In W.H. Auden’s poem â€Å"Funeral Blues† (1003), he describes such a catastrophic event and the drastic effect that it has on his life. It is interesting how people choose to accept this permanent and expected event, death. Similarly, Emily Dickinson has written many poems about death, such as â€Å"The last Night that She lived† (843), which describes a family waiting for a woman or girl to die and the dreary and depressed mood that exists within the household. Mourning is considered a perfectly healthy†¦show more content†¦I can easily relate to these lines because it does seem like the world stops completely when a loved one is lost. Auden also writes, â€Å"He was my North, my South, my East and West/My working week and my Sunday rest† (9-10). It is apparent that the person he has lost is everything to him and losing him is a very hard thing to experience. I can still remember feeling a similar way when I lost a close family member. It seems hard to get on with life and try to move on when such a large part of life is taken away, and this is exactly the mourning portrayed as Auden writes about the devastation and confusion of coming to terms with the fact that his loved one is actually gone. Moreover, Auden uses several techniques in â€Å"Funeral Blues,† including a simple aa, bb rhyme scheme and a plethora of hyperboles. The rhyme scheme is effective because it makes the poem flow smoothly. This makes the poem seem to â€Å"pass by† the reader, much like the rest of life passes by someone who is still feeling the hurt of experiencing death. The hyperboles help to signify exactly how much the lost loved one means to the poet. As, it has been seen that a sad worker would be observed as just other frustrated person in a long record of objections. Therefore, changes should be made which would prevail for a long time and should not be made for a small period of time (Brown, 2016). The manner in which the higher authorities of an organization converse the change in any procedure to the workers was a risky issue in shaping their responses. So, it has been suggested that if any news or any change have to be implemented in an organization from someday then it should be communicated to its workers in a proper manner by a proper channel with reasons for the same (Tanner, 2016). As, if the workers do not understand the need for such change which was conversed by the authorities to its employees. As the changes which were ordered with little or no conversation were considered to be poorly received. So, there must be effective and efficient communication by the authorities to its workers. Therefore, the changes were not acceptable by the workers sometimes when they were communicated by the authorities in a hurry to be implemented from the very time when it was stated (Brookins, 2016). When workers were being ordered to change the manner in which they function may make the workers feel immobilized and mystified (Heerwagen, 2016). So, a familiar routine must be request by the workers to be followed in an organization which would assist them in inculcating wisdom of control over their work environment in which they were working. As the workers only entail a change or execute a change when they believe that they have some type of power which was ruling over them. So, the organization must keep the communication gateway open for all the employees and ask them to help and contribute in the changes, which would then assist them to have a sense of control during different era of change and should not make minor changes again and again rather it should make a single change which would prevail for a longer time (Chaudhary, Luss, Shriram, 2015). Lack of competence was a cause why workers resist these changes in the organization as it was also fear which prevail among the workers which they do not admit openly. So, it has been suggested that the organization should make changes in the skills when it requires them to take place, and but sometimes certain individuals would feel that they were not able to make the transition well. Therefore, the authorities should appraise all the employees for the work which each them do or should appreciate the person in private so that the other person would not feel bad. Poor timing in the organization was another reason why workers need change at the place of work. It should be stated that the authorities should either make the timing flexible for all the workers i.e. they could come whenever they want to but should go at the same time. Or should grant benefit to whom who come on time and penalize the workers who comes late to the work place (Alballaa Al-Mudimigh, 2011). As, the person who comes from a nearby place and the person who comes from a far place if both of them comes on time the they should be praised and some other employees comes late then they should be penalized. As it was then stated that the timing as poor and there was not change, as a result of which the changes which were sometimes made by the organization do not help all the employees but only assist some of them. Therefore, at the end it was stated that the resistance to changes should be made only if there was an urgent need for the changes and they should prevail for a longer period of time rather being implemented for a smaller time period. Because it ultimately hamper the workers of an organization so all the above mentioned point should be kept in mind and the changes should made for the benefit for the community at large. Proper utilization of these elements can enable me to make the organization that I work with to attain strategic effectiveness. For instance, I can use processes to ensure it has sufficient processes that allow tasks to be completed without challenges. According to Pandit (2017), proper resource allocation enables organizations to have an appropriate workflow, by allowing tasks to move from one stage to the other. Enhancing processes can enhance the organizations strategic design by ensuring all sections remains active, and tasks are completed promptly. Apart from making tasks to flow from in the required stages, implementing proper processes can also enhance the availability of information across all areas, hence making it possible to make decisions and take actions on matters that need to be addressed. The other way I can use this model is through ensuring employees are rewarded to feel appreciated. Powell (2014) affirms that when employees feel an organization recognize them, they feel proud to be associated with it, and always commit their efforts towards better performance. This helps the firm to reduce turnover rates and also to improve productivity. Reward also helps in aligningthe goals of employees with those of the organization, hence machining it possible for the firm to attain its objectives. Having organizational goals that match those of the employee also makes it easy for the management to come up with strategies that can trigger better performance, and also to implement change with minimal chances of resistance. I would also use this model to implement a strategy that directs the organization to attain its goals and objectives. According to Pandit (2017), strategy can change an organization by setting a path that can be used to yield products or services that can satisfy its consumers. It also plays a key role in making a firm to accomplish its mission by outlining the tactics that the management can use to attain its goals and objectives. Implementing a strategy in this organization will also make its management to remain active in directing the other staff members in a manner which can make the firm to realize better performance. Implementing better structure in this organization can also assist it to improve its strategic effectiveness. Based on Jay Galbraith's Star Model, this element is associated with the manner in which power and authority passed or exercised in the organization. Maranville (2011) affirms that proper structures in organizations lead to better performance because it makes all departments to do the right things. To ensure this organization has a structure that can yield positive results, I will ensure there are different levels of management, and each level is made of professionals who portrays good leadership qualities. From Jay Galbraith's Star Model, people play a crucial role in getting tasks to be completed in organizations. Because of this reason, I would ensure the company has adequate workforce, and various aspects that enhance employee performance and motivation such as promotion, rotation, training, and development are considered.
